Barbara Jean Paulson

Barbara Jean Paulson, age 83 of Muscoda, formerly of Highland and Blanchardville, died on Friday, September 30, 2016 at the Richland Hospital in Richland Center, Wisconsin. She was born on August 26, 1933 to Tilman and Alice (Kellesvig) Paulson in the St Clare Hospital in Monroe. She grew up between Blanchardville and New Glarus on the family farm. She stayed at home with her parents helping take care of the house. She was a client of The Hodan Center in Mineral Point for many years, right up until her death. She loved working there, assembling clocks and doing craft work. She had many friends there amongst the staff and clients. After the death of her mother, she moved to Pine Lawn Assisted Living in Highland where she lived for many years. In 2015 she moved to Gracious Way Assisted Living in Muscoda. She loved living at both her homes where she had many friends. Barb loved the holidays and family gatherings.

Barbara is survived by nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law Thomas Orshall. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tilman & Alice Paulson, a brother Doug and his wife Norma Paulson, a sister Rita Orshall; and a nephew Scott Paulson.

A visitation for Barbara Paulson will be held on Tuesday evening, October 4, 2016 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Saether Funeral Home in Blanchardville. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday morning, October 5, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the York Memorial Lutheran Church in rural Blanchardville at the intersection of highways 78 and 39. Rev. Bob Fisher will officiate. Burial will be in the York Memorial Cemetery. The Saether Funeral Home in Blanchardville is assisting the family.
