Beverly Rose (Blanc) Lien age 86 ½ of Fitchburg, formerly of New Glarus, Belleville and Blanchardville died on Thursday, September 17, 2026. She was born March 3, 1940, in rural Monroe, Green County, Wisconsin to Conrad and Rose (Broders) Blanc. She attended Roosevelt School and was active in 4H. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1957 and while attending enjoyed being part of the High School Band under the direction of Pat Barnard.

Beverly met her future husband at Turner Hall, Monroe, WI Where she went every weekend. Cliff was playing in the Roger Bright Band and the music brought them together.

In 1958 Beverly married Clifford J. Lien of Blanchardville, WI at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, IA. After marriage they lived in Blanchardville where she worked as a Legal Secretary, Store Clerk, Church Secretary, Cheese Factory worker and Office Manager of the Blanchardville Clinic.

Beverly is a member of the New Hope Lutheran Church and was their organist for many years, past member of its council, children and adult choir director, Sunday School teacher, a past counselor and officer of the American Legion Auxiliary and helped establish the local Cub Scout Pack.

In 1981 Bev and Cliff moved to Monona, WI where she worked at Harp and Kettle Cheese Store for 3 years and then attended MATC. She graduated with Honors as a Certified Medical Assistant in 1985. She worked at Dean Clinic for 26 years in OBGYN, Family practice and played the roles of Crash Helmet and Buckle Bear.

In 1992 Bev and Cliff moved to rural Belleville/New Glarus area where they designed and built a home with help from loving friends and family. In 2021 they moved to a duplex in New Glarus.

Music was a huge part of Beverly’s life whether it was playing the organ, the piano, trying to play the violin, listening to rock and roll, classical, country or dancing to Polkas which were her favorite. She was organist for many years for weddings and funerals while living in Blanchardville.

Beverly is survived by her three beautiful children and spouses. Mikel (Sheilagh) Lien of Fitchburg, WI, Michele Lien of Verona, WI, David (Karen) of Lees Summit, MO, and grandchildren Ryan (Mercedes) Lien of Moscow, ID, Karna Mross of Monticello, WI, Step Granddaughter Dawn Schwartz of Madison, WI, Adopted grandchildren James and John Hermus of Oregon, WI, Nieces ThelmaRose Gerrits (Chris) and family, Cindy Blanc (Peter Minucci), and Nephew Marc (Brenda) Blanc. Sister-in-law Janet Blanc. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Roger, her husband Clifford, grandson Jared Lien.

She hopes she left this earth a better place than it was before she came. She always tried to be the eternal optimist and treated people as they would like to be treated. Her belief in God and daily prayers for her family and friends were very important to her.

Instead of flowers we ask that memorials please go to a charity you designate or to her family where they will forward to Charities of their choosing. Charities suggested are New Hope Lutheran Church or Sunday School and Pecatonica Food Pantry.

Funeral Services will take place Monday September 28, 2026, at 11:00 am at New Hope Lutheran in Blanchardville, WI. The service will be livestreamed on the Saether Funeral Service Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/saetherfuneralservice Pastor Chris Strohm will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery followed by a luncheon in the church’s fellowship hall. A visitation will be held at New Hope Lutheran 305 Madison Street, Blanchardville WI on Sunday September 27, 2026, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm and before services from 10:00 to 10:45 am.
