Charles and Terese then moved to Marengo, IL, where he was a herdsman for the Curtiss Candy Cattle Company for four years. Then he was promoted as a master herdsman for the company in Tupelo, Mississippi. In 1954 they moved back to Hollandale to farm. In 1986 they purchased a farm in the Blanchardville area. After semi-retiring he moved to Blanchardville where he lived until the past four years when he was a resident of the New Glarus Home. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Blanchardville. Charles loved all aspects of farming from raising cattle to spending time on his Oliver tractors. Above all he cherished his wife Terese of 66 years, his children and his grandchildren.
