Cynthia (Cindy) Jo Howe (Ihm), age 57 of Roscoe, Ill. died on January 28, 2018 at home surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer. Cindy was born on August 24, 1960 in Dodgeville, Wisconsin to Robert and Jeraldine (McDermott) Ihm. She was one of seven children raised on the Ihm Farm in rural Hollandale. She graduated with the Class of 1978 from Pecatonica High School and attended the University of Wisconsin – Platteville where she received a Bachelor of Science in education.

Cindy was teaching physical education, health and coaching basketball and softball at South Beloit High School in South Beloit, Ill. when she met Bill Howe. They were married at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Hollandale, Wis. on June 21, 1986. Cindy taught in the Kinnikinnick School District for over 20 years and was loved by the students and faculty.

She also loved the outdoors whether it was 4-H, coaching youth soccer and softball, gardening, photography, hiking or traveling. Cindy and Bill were avid travelers, sightseeing and hiking all parts of the United States. She enjoyed spending time with her family and will be missed especially for her passion to help others, her kindness and her sense of humor.

Cindy is survived by her husband of 31 years, Bill; her children, Stephanie Howe of Sterling Heights, Mich. and Stacey Howe of Oak Brook Terrace, Ill. She is further survived by her father, Robert Ihm of Hollandale, siblings Greg (Tracy) Ihm of Belleville, Roxy Hittesdorf (Mike Moen) of Coon Rapids, Minn., Teresa Swenson of Hollandale, Doug (Connie) Ihm of Hollandale, Beth (Todd) Kittleson of Mineral Point, and Todd (Sara) Ihm of Hollandale and many special aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jeri Ihm; her father-in-law, Bill Howe Sr., nieces Alexandra Ihm and Alyssia Kittleson.

A visitation for Cindy will be held Friday evening, February 2, 2018 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at Blanchard Hall at 206 S Main Street in Blanchardville, Wis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church at 601 Grover Street in Hollandale on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Fr. Paul Eruva will officiate. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in rural Hollandale.

The Saether Funeral Home in Blanchardville is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made at www.youcaring.com/cindyhowememorial.
