Daniel Fredrick Hardekopf, age 45, of Blanchardville, formally of Somonauk, Illinois, died on Monday morning, December 21, 2009 as a result of a fire at his business/residence in Blanchardville. He was born January 4, 1964 in Aurora, IL the son of Don and Margaret (Haas) Hardekopf. He was a member of Argyle Rod and Gun Club, and enjoyed hunting of all types, his Bar, The Silver Dollar Saloon in Blanchardville, which he co/owned with his special friend Jill Hughes, his friends, and his family. He never knew a stranger. He is survived by his mother, Margaret Hardekopf, of Somonauk, IL; three sons, Ryan (Becky) Hardekopf of Giberts, IL, Bradley (Stefani Fannin) Hardekopf of Sandwich, IL, and Hunter Hardekopf of Somonauk; one daughter Nicole (Justin) Snider of Sandwich; Jill's children, Krystle, Joe, Dylan and Tyler; five grandchildren, Riley, Owen, Callihan, Kolter and Nora; three sisters, Lisa (Mike) Peura of Yorkville, IL, and Lori (Scott) Christopher and Dawn (Kevin) Napolitano both of Somonauk; Grandmother Ronelva Hardekopf of Sandwich; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents, Clarence Hardekopf, Harvey and Maggie Haas; and his special friend Jill Hughes who also died in the fire. A visitation for Daniel Hardekopf and his girlfriend Jill Hughes will be held at the American Legion Post in Blanchardville form 3:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday December 23, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at the Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL.
