Everett Julian Kittleson

Everett Julian Kittleson, age 91 of rural Mount Horeb died on Sunday evening, July 12, 2009 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 2, 1918 on the Kittleson homestead family farm in rural Mount Horeb in Kittleson Valley, Perry Township, Dane County, Wisconsin to William and Stella (Helland) Kittleson. He grew up there on the farm and went to school in Blanchardville, graduating from the Blanchardville High School in 1936. He farmed in his early years with his dad and brothers. He was married on October 21, 1940 in Verona to Mabel Hefty. They continued farming the family homestead farm, later helping their sons, Roger and Ronald, who took over the farm from him. Everett also was a Patz farm equipment dealer and Pioneer Seed Company dealer for many years. He was Perry Town Chairman for several years. Everett was a member of the Perry Lutheran Church for his entire life, including serving as a Deacon of the church. In his earlier years he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and later in life he loved bowling, especially with the senior citizens at the Countryside Lanes near Hollandale. He was a talented violin and accordion player for most of his life, playing with his brothers and many groups at many events, even up until weeks before his death. He was a member of, and frequently performed with, the South Western Old Time Fiddler's Association. He loved his family and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Everett is survived by three children, Ronald (Rosalie Huntington) Kittleson of New Glarus, Roger (Michele) Kittleson of rural Mount Horeb, and Elizabeth (Hans) Heike of Davenport, Iowa; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Lillian Ula of Blanchardville; and special friend, Alice Gjesvold. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Mabel, who died on May 15, 2003; and three brothers, Truman, Stanley and Byron.
