Jeraldine Francis Ihm

Jeraldine "Jeri" Francis Ihm, age 78 of Hollandale died on October 4, 2017 at Atrium Post Acute Care of Mineral Point after battling Multiple Sclerosis. Jeri was born on May 27, 1939 in Ironton, Wisconsin to Charles and Delphine (McKinley) McDermott. She graduated from Belleville High School on May 31, 1957. Jeri married Robert Frances Ihm at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Belleville on November 5, 1958. Following their marriage, Bob worked construction until 1959 when they moved to a farm on Highway 39 in rural Hollandale, where they farmed and raised seven children together. They milked cows, and raised pigs and chickens.

Jeri also loved the outdoors whether it was gardening, yard work, or planting new roses in her rose garden. She was extremely busy with school functions and 4-H projects. Jeri was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Hollandale, and a 4-H volunteer. She enjoyed sewing and canning her favorite vegetables from the garden. Upon retirement, they resided on the home farm. Jeri loved spending time with her family, friends, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Jeri is survived by her husband of 59 years, Bob; her children, Greg (Tracy) Ihm of Belleville, Cindy (Bill) Howe of Roscoe, IL, Roxy Hittesdorf (Mike Moen) of Coon Rapids, MN, Teresa Swenson of Hollandale, Doug (Connie) Ihm of Hollandale, Beth (Todd) Kittleson of Mineral Point, and Todd (Sara) Ihm of Hollandale; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sisters Joanne Hollis of Albany, Janice Schulz of Brooklyn, Judi Baker of Nevada, & June Frick of New Glarus; brothers Robert (Kathy) McDermott of California and Ronald (Diane) McDermott of Brooklyn; brother in laws Walter Anderson of Mount Horeb and Ian Campbell of Belleville; and sister in law Donna McDermott of Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Elizabeth and Walter Ihm; and granddaughters Alexandra Ihm and Alyssia Kittleson; sisters, Joyce McIntyre, Juanita Anderson, Jane Campbell and Jeanette McCullick; brother Roger McDermott; brothers-in-law Tom McIntyre, Gerald Schulz, David Hollis, Fred Baker, John Frick and Bob McCullick.

A visitation for Jeri Ihm will be held Sunday evening, October 8, 2017 from 3:00 until 7:00 PM at Blanchard Hall at 206 S Main Street in Blanchardville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church at 601 Grover Street in Hollandale on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Fr. Paul Eruva will officiate. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in rural Hollandale. The Saether Funeral Home in Blanchardville is assisting the family. Online memories and condolences can be shared with the family at .
