Joseph "Joey" Cody Pfuhl, age 18 of Hollandale died on Sunday, June 20, 2010 near Poynette on Lake Wisconsin in a tragic boating accident. He was born on November 11, 1991 in Madison to Robert & Cheryl (Gove) Pfuhl. He grew up in Madison, until May of 1992 when he and his mom and brother moved to Hollandale at the time his mother married Eric Massey. He attended the Pecatonica grade and high school, and recently graduated this May 28th from the Pecatonica High School in Blanchardville. Joey loved cooking, woodworking, deer hunting, horses, mechanics, computer gaming, and fishing. He recently caught his first Musky, a 37.5" fish with guide Bill Jenneys. Joey is survived by his mother, Cheryl Massey of Poynette; his father, Robert Pfuhl of Madison; one brother, Chris Pfuhl of Hollandale; his step-father, Eric Massey of Hollandale; special friend, Kelly Kopmeyer of Poynette; a half-sister, Cheyenne Pfuhl; paternal grandparents, Floyd and Mary Lou Pfuhl of Deerfield; special aunts & uncles,Doug and Cindy Schriber of Hollandale and Larry & Sherry Bushy of Deerfield; and other aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ray & Donna Gove and step grandparents Dwight and Norma Massey. A visitation will be held on Friday evening, July 9, 2010 from 4:00 until 9:00 PM at the Blanchardville Lutheran Church at 305 Madison Street. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Blanchardville Lutheran Church. Rev. Mark Gruner of that church and Rev. Dan Jester of the New Hope Church in Mount Horeb will co-offidiate. Entombment will be in the Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Madison at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 12, 2010. The Saether Funeral Home in Blanchardville is assisting the family.
