LeRoy J. McNeill LeRoy J. McNeill, age 68 of Hollandale died on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at the HospiceCare center in Fitchburg. He was born on September 10, 1940 in Dodgeville to LeRoy T. & Joan (Griffiths) McNeill. LeRoy attended school in Hollandale and graduated with the Hollandale High School class of 1958. He joined the United States Marine Corps and served until 1966. LeRoy was married on July 29, 1967 in Hollandale to Linda Harvey. He worked for thirty years at Madison Gas & Electric in Madison where he was a proud and active member and past Vice-President & Steward of I.B.E.W. Local Union #2304. LeRoy and Linda lived in McFarland until 1972 when they moved to Hollandale. He retired from MG&E in 1997. LeRoy loved gardening, which was his passion after leaving the Marine Corps. He was a member of the Olaf Martinson American Legion Post #510 in Hollandale and volunteered at the Hollandale Fire Department for 31 years. He also loved reading and fishing. LeRoy is survived by his wife, Linda McNeill of Hollandale; three children, Dawn McNeill of Hollandale, Sheri McNeill of Hollandale, John McNeill of Rockford; one sister, Janayne (Leo) Spellman of Darlington; one brother, Earl (Jenny) McNeill of Hollandale; four grandchildren, Tim, Shawn, Hallie & Nevan; one great-grandson Corbin; and his step-mother, Luella McNeill of Monroe. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother-in-law Jim Blaser; and his niece Jaime Blaser. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2009 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM and Friday morning, September 11th from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the Saether Funeral Home in Blanchardville. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Saether Funeral Home in Blanchardville with Veteran's honors by the Olaf Martinson American Legion Post from Hollandale and the United States Marine Corps.
