Louise Eunice Kammerud

Louise Eunice Kammerud age 82 of Blanchardville, died on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at her home in Blanchardville.

She was born on April 9, 1933 in Houston, TX, the daughter of James Samuel and Molly Elizabeth (Blackburn) Irons. She traveled with her dad's lumberjack job, went to many schools and graduated from high school in Oklahoma. On November 19, 1958 she married Bob Hughes in Denver. They continued to live there while Bob served in the Air Force. After Bob retired from the service on May 7, 1962, they moved to Blanchardville for Bob to help his dad on his farm. Louise upholstered furniture in her home and worked at Pleasant View and Ingleside Nursing Homes. She later did home care for many people in the region. Bob died unexpectedly on July 18, 1976. Louise married Donald Kammerud on April 9, 1977 in Darlington. They were later, divorced. She loved her family, especially her grandkids, gardening, cooking, canning and fishing.

Louise is survived by her five children; Donald (Joan) Hughes of Monroe; Mike (Betty) Hughes of Ridgeway; Linda (Chuck) Dominique of Gillette, WY; Patty (Joe) Cloutier of Hollandale and Frank (Colleen) Hughes of Blanchardville, two brothers; Lee Irons of Star City, AK, Odelle (Ruby) Irons of Forrester, AK and a sister; Annie. She is further survived by her 15 grandchildren; John Ackerman, Nikki Bedtka, Jena Ackerman, Jeff Hughes, Jason Hughes, Donny Hughes, David Hughes, Heidi Hughes, Chevy Hughes, Mike Rinkenberger, Crystal Rinkenberger, Colter Rinkenberger, Cheyenne Dominique, Dakota Dominique, Brittany Cloutier and several great-grandchildren.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Udell and Fred and a sister; Lucille Seaton.

A funeral service will be held on Monday evening, June 8, 2015 at 5:00 PM at the Saether Funeral Home in Blanchardville. Friends may call from 3:00 PM until the time of service.
