Luther Johnson

Luther Magnus Johnson, age 51 of rural Mount Horeb, died on Tuesday evening, February 10, 2009 at his home on Drammen Valley Road. He was born on May 3, 1957 in Monroe to Magnus and Gladys (Winden) Johnson. He grew up with his parents and siblings in rural Blanchardville. He attended grade and high school in Blanchardville. Luther farmed for his entire life in the area surrounding Blanchardville. He was married on February 18, 1978 for ten years to Tammy Willborn. Luther loved farming, the outdoors, fishing and especially his friends and family. He always enjoyed spending the holidays with his kids and grandkids. Luther worked hard, played hard and loved hard. He also loved going to Bluegrass festivals with his son. Luther is survived by two children, Luther Jr. "Luke" (Josalyn Riha-Johnson) Johnson of Hollandale, and Tiffany (Kyle Wickersham) Johnson of Pardeeville; his good friend and former wife, Tammy Roundy of Pardeeville; six grandchildren, Kylie, Peyton, Kaylin, Jamison, Odin and Izabella; two sisters, Marie Berger of Orange, California, and Shirley Trotter of Madison; one brother, Richard Johnson of Portage; 23 nieces and nephews; and special friends Keith and Jamie Gordon. He was preceded in death by his parents. A visitation for Luther Johnson will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2009 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon, followed by a prayer and remembrance service at noon, all at the Saether Funeral Home in Blanchardville.
