Margaret June Ihus

June 3, 1938 — October 17, 2013

Margaret "Maggie" June Ihus, age 75 of Hometown Assisted Living in Belleville, formerly of rural Monticello and Monroe, died on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Hometown Assisted Living in Belleville. She was born on June 3, 1938 in Moscow Township, Iowa County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Olaf and Anna (Walrack) Ihus. She attended school in Moscow and Chippewa Falls. Margaret grew up in Moscow, and later in Chippewa Falls. She later returned to Monroe in the 1980's to be closer to her family. She lived in her own apartment there, then lived with Tina Klitzke in Tina's Country Harmony Care Home in rural Monticello for 12 years. She then moved to Hometown Assisted Living in Belleville, where she lived for several years. Margaret loved stuffed animals, pictures of birds and animals, hearing verses of the Bible read to her, shopping and car rides. She worked at Greenco Industries in Monroe for 25 years.

Margaret is survived by two sisters, Ruth Everson, and Helen Dickhut; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her current and former caregiving friends; and a special friend Martha Obrien. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert and George Ihus; and one sister, Olga Ihus.

A visitation for Maggie Ihus will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the Saether Funeral Home in Blanchardville. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in the Moscow Cemetery in rural Blanchardville.
