Mark Alan Ranum

Mark Alan Ranum, age 63 of rural Darlington died early Saturday morning, December 9, 2017 at his home north of Fayette. He was born on April 3, 1954 in Mount Horeb to Edward and Gertrude (Zurfluh) Ranum. Mark grew up around Mount Horeb, and went to the Daleyville grade school, graduated from the Mount Horeb High School, and attended the UW Platteville. He was married in 1973 to Vicki Brausam. They lived in the Beloit area. Mark worked for 17 years at Moore Business forms in Monroe. He married Annette (Kinney) Green in Blanchardville at the Blanchardville Lutheran Church on August 27, 1994. They lived together in rural Darlington on Fort Defiance Road for their 23 years of marriage. Mark was a bee keeper for his entire life. Mark and Annie owned and sold Ranum's 1887 brand honey, soap and lip balm products. Mark was mechanically inclined, and could fix anything. He worked hard researching is family genealogy. He did electrical and audio wiring systems. He was also an avid writer and published four magazines during his life. Mark was an active member of the Monroe Bible Church where he was a leader with the A/V sound and video crew.
Mark is survived by his wife Annie of rural Darlington; six children, Justin (Quinn) Ranum of Minneapolis, MN, Jessica Ranum of Beloit, Amanda Green of Janesville, Elizabeth (Steve) Rud of Casper, WY, Teresa Green of Janesville, and Vannesa Skattum of Monroe; two sisters, Ruth (Ken) Melby of Decorah, IA, and Joan (Roger) Lloyd of Madison; a brother John (Karen) Ranum of Mount Horeb; and six grandchildren, Justine, Epic, Nathaniel, Radin, George, and Cadence.
A visitation for Mark Ranum will be held Thursday evening, December 14, 2017 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Monroe Bible Church at 2613 8th Avenue in Monroe. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 11:00 AM at The Monroe Bible church. Pastor Daniel Krahenbuhl will officiate. Burial will be in the Perry Lutheran Cemetery in Daleyville. The Saether Funeral Home in Blanchardville is assisting the family.
