Michael “Mike” Alan Ryan, age 73 formerly of Blanchardville died on Friday evening, March 27, 2026 at The View in Johnson Creek care facility. He was born on February 3, 1953 in Blanchardville to Kenneth Raphael and Eva Marie (Weier) Ryan. Mike grew up in Blanchardville, went to Blanchardville grade and high school, graduating from high school in 1971, the last class of Blanchardville High School. He went on to attend the UW Platteville for a couple years to learn about electrical work. He began working with Doug Kiel at Kiel Electric where he spent his entire working life. He loved doing electrical work and helping people, so much so that he continued doing little projects for people even after he wasn’t working full time. Mike was married in October 1982 to Mary-Lyn Daws at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hollandale. Mike was a great outdoorsman. He loved camping, canoeing, fishing, hiking, and cross-country skiing. He enjoyed making trips to the Sylvania Wilderness in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Mike had a group of friends from Blanchardville that went on canoeing and camping trips. He played slow-pitch softball, pool and cribbage. He was also a founding member of the Centurions Motorcycle Club. He really enjoyed the local high school sports and following the Badgers, Brewers and Packers.
Mike is survived by his daughter, Lindsey Austin of Fort Atkinson; one granddaughter, Mikayla Austin; his former wife, Mary-Lyn Austin; two brothers, Larry (Beverly) Ryan of Monroe, and Tim (Barb) Ryan of Blanchardville; and lots of nieces and nephews.
