Orville Chenous, age 91 of Argyle died on Thursday afternoon, July 15, 2010 at the Pleasant View Nursing Home in Monroe. He was born on May 28, 1919 on the family farm in the Yellowstone area in Lafayette County, Wisconsin to Louis Lars & Randa (Rood) Chenous. Orville's father died soon after he was born, he then lived and grew up with his grandmother, Lisa Chenous in Argyle. He graduated from the Argyle grade and high schools, and attended the UW Platteville. He was married on February 26, 1940 to Helen Lattin. Orville and Helen farmed the family farm in Yellowstone valley until 1981 when they retired and built a new home in Argyle, living there until his death. His wife Helen died on June 30, 2002. When he was younger he enjoyed trapping, hunting and fishing. In later years he was dedicated to his farm and his family, which he loved. His cattle were his pride. Orville is survived by two children, Steve (Kathy) Chenous of Argyle, and Susan (David) Eastman of Clear Lake, Iowa; one brother-in-law, Walter (Leora) Lattin of Blanchardville; four grandchildren, Jeff Eastman, Chad (Aimee) Eastman, Brad Chenous and Andy (Johanna) Chenous; five great-grandhchildren, RaeAnna Eastman, Jas Eastman, Dylan Eastman, Alanna Eastman, and Andrew Eastman. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Helen; one half-brother Ralph Erb; and one half sister Ada "Lorraine" (Holman) Adams. Orville's family will be holding private services at a later date with burial in the Yellowstone Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Argyle.
