Randahl Leroy Peterson

Randahl Leroy Peterson, age 64 of Blanchardville died early Thursday morning, November 4, 2021 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital after suffering from Pancreatic Cancer.  He was born on November 7, 1956 in Dodgeville to Maynard and Grace (Ihus) Peterson.  He grew up in the Blue Mounds and Barneveld area near Daleyville.  He attended school in Barneveld and graduated from Barneveld High School in the class of 1974.  He worked in the parts departments of a couple businesses, and drove truck for a time.  He ended up working in construction, eventually working for Engineered Construction based out of Verona.  Randy was a great mechanic, and was involved in demolition derby and the River Rats Demolition Derby team for years.  He loved camping, hunting and fishing.  He was also a huge NASCAR fan, traveling to Daytona and Talladega.  He enjoyed sharing NASCAR with many friends, and his wife Susie, traveling to many races together.  Randy and Susie were married on April 24, 1998 in Huntsville, Alabama.  They enjoyed spending a lot of time at 4-Seasons Resort , now Cork-Down Saloon at Yellowstone Lake near Blanchardville and Argyle.  He was also part of the Blanchardville River Rats who volunteer cleaning the Pecatonica river from Blanchardville to Argyle every year.

Randy is survived by his wife, Susan Jane Peterson of Blanchardville; five children, Randahl, Jr. "PJ" (Wendy Lucas) Peterson of Dodgeville, Ashley McNamer of Dodgeville, Sarah (Nate) Green of DeForest, Jessica Hohneke of Stoughton, and Kimberly (Reid) Northwick of New Richmond; three step-children, Kristine Reed Jacksonville, NC, Josh Kiesling of Dodgeville, and Missy Osborne of Oak Island, NC; eight grandchildren, Lilli Belle and Tallulah McNamer; Allison, Madeline and Katelynn Green; Theodore Kunz; Raela and Ella Northwick; his mother, Grace Peterson of Mount Horeb; five siblings, Trudy (Jerry) Tibbits of Mineral Point, Janean (Phil) Wyse, Roland (Ginny) Peterson, Tracy (Sue) Peterson, Carissa (Jason Pfister) Peterson; and Close friends Liz Cole and Matt Cole and their children Kirstin and Kyle.  He was preceded in death by his father, Maynard who died in December of 2007.

A visitation for Randy Peterson will be held on Thursday evening, November 11, 2021 from 4:00 until 7:00 pm at Blanchard Hall at 204 South Main Street in Blanchardville.  A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm at Blanchard Hall.  The service will be livestreamed on the Saether Funeral Service Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/saetherfuneralservice .  Rev.
