Rose Marie Killips, age 79, of Blanchardville, Wisconsin, formerly of Des Plaines, Illinois died peacefully at Upland Hills Hospital in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, on August 3rd, 2013. Rose was born on December 23rd, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Julia and Rathnow. She graduated from the Good Counsel High School in Chicago. She married Donald Robert Killips on May 19, 1956 and moved to Des Plaines where they raised five children. Both Rose and Don were passionately involved in The Christian Family Movement, Chicago Marriage Encounter and other programs in the Archdiocese, serving as Executive Couple. They retired to Blanchardville in 1993. They helped with the local Chicken BBQ, Immaculate Conception Parish, and village garage sales. Donald died on November 10th, 2007. Rose loved to fish and garden. She was a member of The Blanchardville Woman's Club, she and Don were the writers of the Hedwigian II newsletter for the Hedwigian orphanage which she continued after Don's death. She served in her parish as lector and Eucharistic minister.

Rose is survived by her five children, Keverne of Blanchardville, Terrance (Christine) of Blanchardville, Karen (Ned) of Rubicon, WI, Kenneth of Des Plaines, IL, and Keith of Hawthorn Woods, IL; 8 grandchildren, Jenniffer (Brandon), Austin, Lindsay, Rebecca, Ariana, Kyle, Kalyn, and Dana; 3 great grandchildren, Dante, Sada, and Kameron; and two sisters, Katherine and Louise. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald, Her sister Dolores who died in 2008, and a great-grandchild Zavier who died in 2009.

A visitation for Rose Killips will be held at the Saether Funeral Home in Blanchardville on Wednesday evening, August 7, 2013 from 3:00 until 7:00 PM, followed by a Rosary and prayer service at 7:00 PM. A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church, 8300 N Greenwood Ave, in Niles, IL with visitation for an hour prior. Burial will be in the Mary Hill Cemetery in Niles, IL. The Saether Funeral Home in Blanchardville, Wisconsin is serving the family.
