Stanley Chrostowski

Stanley Chrostowski, age 79 of Hollandale died on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville. He was born on December 31, 1934 in Danville, IL to Alex and Ruth (Shrout) Chrostowski. On April 26, 1953, he married Erna Graap in Cheektowaga, NY. He was employed at Chevrolet and Westinghouse in Buffalo, NY, moved to Illinois and worked as a fireman engineer at AB Dick in Niles, IL; a fireman in Carpentersville, IL, and later moved to Wisconsin to farm and raised a family of ten children, 32 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Stanley enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting. He loved his family, his friends and his community where he was well known and in turn, loved by all. Stanley is survived by his wife, Erna; children Patricia (Robert) Benson, Barb (Les) Morgan, Sharon (Jeff) Lewis, Walt (Karin), Robin (Stanley) Peterson, Dave (Meta), Karen (Leroy) Chrostowski, Mark (Vicki), Bob; brothers, Bill (Jackie) Chrostowski of Tilton, IL, Richard Chrostowski of Westville, IL, Gerald (Barb) Chrostowski of Newburgh, IN and Donald Chrostowski of Algonquin, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Stanley Jr, his step father, Harry Bevins, and his nephew, Billy. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 4 PM at the Lutheran Church in Hollandale; Rev. Craig Jan-McMahon of the Pecatonica Lutheran Parish will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 12:00 PM until the time of service. The Saether Funeral Home in Blanchardville is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hollandale Lutheran Church.
