"Marge" Margaret Tullis Obituary

Margaret "Marge" Ann Tullis, age 89 of the Pleasant View Nursing Home in Monroe died on Friday, April 9, 2021, one day short of her 90th birthday.  She was born on April 10, 1931 in Chicago to Edward John and Otillia (Tillie) Mary (Hanus) Vadinsky.  She grew up in Chicago with her parents and brothers.  She attended school in Chicago, graduating from Gage Park High School.  She worked as a salesclerk at Sears, which was where she met her future husband, Dick.  She was married to Charles “Dick” Tullis on October 27, 1951 in Chicago.  They lived in Chicago, and she raised her family along with working some time waitressing.  In 1970 the family moved to Monroe where she continued raising her family and eventually worked at the Monroe Manor as an activity aide, waitressed at Dutch’s Inn, and worked as an aide at the Monroe school.  After retiring she helped open the St. Vincent’s De Paul store in Monroe and helped with Habitat for Humanity.  She was also at Dick’s side helping with Knights of Columbus activities.  In her spare time she loved gardening, sewing and crocheting.  She was a great cook and mother, her family lovingly remembers her love and meals.  She was a member of St. Victor’s Catholic Church in Monroe and enjoyed quilting, ushering at Masses, and helping with Eucharist at the nursing homes.

Marge is survived by eight children, Tom (Shirley) Tullis of Monroe, Linda (Edward) Dyer of Stillwater, Minnesota, Nancy (Rene) Hendrickson of Argyle, Karen (Donald) Rothenbach of Monroe, Jim (Vickie) Tullis of Royal Oaks, California, Cathy (Greg) Gray of Brodhead, Tim (Mary) Tullis of Madison, and Richard (Bessie) Tullis of Monroe; 30 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Richard Vadinsky of Chicago.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dick who died on October 12, 2003; her son David who died on June 4, 2011; and a brother, Robert Vandinsky.
