Mary Ann Trevillian, 94 of Milwaukee died on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at the Aurora Zilber Family Hospice in Milwaukee. She was born in Milwaukee on February 5, 1929 to Christopher and Sarah (Smith) Trevillian. She went to Messmer Catholic High School in Milwaukee. In 1954 she entered the Milwaukee Police Department serving as one of the earliest policewomen in Milwaukee. She continued in service on the police force until her retirement in 1981. Mary went on to live a long and active life in retirement, and enjoyed claiming that she was retired for longer than she worked! Mary loved traveling the world in her retirement. She had a special love for Christmas and entertaining guests in her home at Christmas time. She was an active member of the St. Matthias Parish in Milwaukee. She also was proud of her heritage and her family connection through her mother to Blanchardville, Wisconsin.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and many friends and is survived by many cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Blanchardville. The service will be livestreamed on the Saether Funeral Service Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/saetherfuneralservice/, or through a link on Mary’s obituary page on the Saether Funeral Service website. Fr. Prabhakar Singareddy will officiate. Burial next to her parents will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Blanchardville. Saether Funeral Service of Blanchardville is assisting the family.
