Norbert Alois Haag, age 71 of the Forward area of rural Mount Horeb, WI entered into the eternal hunting grounds on November 24, 2022 at the University Hospital in Madison. He was born on September 24, 1951 in Monroe WI to Alvin and Dorothy (Bindl) Haag. Norb grew up on the family dairy farm south of Mount Horeb and graduated in 1970 from Mount Horeb High School. After high school, he operated a dairy and hog farm in Primrose Township with his father and worked as a truck driver for several area trucking firms until his retirement in 2009.
Norb’s true passion was being an outdoorsman. He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. Norb took several trips out West elk hunting. He fondly recalled deer hunting with family and often shared those stories. Fishing at Yellowstone Lake State Park was another favorite past time. Norb’s trip to Alaska was a highlight of his life. While there he photographed wildlife and scenery that he proudly shared with others.
Norbert is survived by his siblings: Arlene (Wayne) DeForest, Delores (Charles) Baeten, Inez (Daniel) Martin, Jeanette Martin, Virgil (Dawn) Haag, Beth (Ivan) Hellenbrand and Andrew (Brenda) Haag. Along with many nieces and nephews and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Jerome Haag who died on December 2, 2013.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Blanchard Hall with burial following at the Graceland Cemetery in Blanchardville.
