Ryan Joseph Kurschner, age 51 of Blanchardville died on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at the SSM Monroe Clinic Hospice Home, after a battle with cancer.  He was born on April 17, 1971 in Monroe to Larry Ron and Vicki (Skaife) Kurschner.  He grew up on the family farm (the same farm he would one day live on and operate) with his parents and siblings on Highway 78 in rural Blanchardville. He attended the Pecatonica grade and high schools, graduating in 1989.  He wrestled, played football and baseball when he was in high school.  He was also very active in the Up and Over 4-H club, showing cattle and FFA, where he earned both the State Farmer and American Farmer degrees.  Most of his years growing up, and full time after graduating he farmed with his father and family.  He started dating his future wife Jessica Hendrickson in 2002, and they were married November 4, 2006 at the Blanchardville Lutheran Church.  Jess worked with Ryan on the farm for all their years of marriage.  In 2009 they moved to the family farm.  Ryan was a proud dairy farmer and was on the farm his whole life.  He was always willing to help other farmers in need of help.  Ryan was a wonderful husband and father.  He was very connected to his nieces and nephews.  His children say that he was good at teaching them to milk and help on the farm.  He loved playing cards and spending time with his friends at Husie’s.  Ryan was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church.  He was a great sports fan and especially a Packer fan.

Ryan is survived by his wife, Jessica Kurschner of rural Blanchardville;  3 children, Jenna, Kayden and Riley, all of rural Blanchardville; four siblings, Ron (Cherie) Kurschner of Blanchardville Ranee Kurschner of Blanchardville, Rodney (Jayne) Kurschner of Darlington, and Reginald Kurschner of Milwaukee; many nieces and nephews; his mother and father-in-law, Kim (Loreane) Hendrickson of Argyle and Ann (Don Andrews) Denure; grandparent-in-laws Mary Jean Hendrickson and Bob & Marie Sutherland, both of Blanchardville; brother and sister-in-laws, Jeremy (Sara) Hendrickson, Tara (Mike) Frohrib, Ashley (Dan) O’brien and a very good friend and valued “hired man” Jake Scoville.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings Roxanne, Rochelle and Roger; and a nephew Joshua Krebs.
